Daily Journal
A very simple change that has vastly improved my mindset in these past few weeks is the introduction of a daily journal. I start each day just thinking and recording a few things that I am grateful for and what will make today great. This can really help you start your days in a more positive mindset.
This can seem hard to do on our worst days but there is always something that we can appreciate and feel grateful for. Even if it is just that you have air to breathe and you woke up in the morning. Some days it can be very difficult to appreciate these things but stopping to think about your life in this positive way can be a small step towards shifting your mindset.
Starting this practice doesn’t need to be complicated. You don’t need to go out and buy a new journal if you don’t want to. Write it anywhere. Use post-it notes or scraps of paper if that is all you have. You could even just start a new file on your computer or phone if that works better for you.
To help ensure you stick with this habit, try tying it to something you are already doing every morning. Maybe journal while having a cup of coffee or eating your breakfast.
This is one of those simple habits that I think everyone should at least try at some point in their life. There really is no downside here.
Happy writing!
